Community Guidelines
The short version
- Play fair, be kind, show up, and be honest about your level and your plans.
- Meet new people in public places. Never share a home address in a game note.
- No harassment, hate, threats, spam, scams or unsafe stunts.
- Something wrong? Report a message, review or group in the app, or email support@getozevo.com. We can remove content and suspend accounts.
How we play
- Be welcome and welcoming. Beginners and experts, all ages of adults, all backgrounds. Be patient with newer players.
- Be honest. Set your level truthfully, describe the game and the place accurately, and keep your profile real.
- Be reliable. If you join, show up. If your plans change, leave the game or cancel as early as you can so others can find another player.
- Play safe. Respect the rules of the sport and the venue, and each other's limits.
What is not allowed
- Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, unwanted sexual attention, or hate speech aimed at a person or group.
- Impersonating someone, fake profiles, or hiding that you are a coach or business when you promote a service.
- Spam, scams, pyramid schemes, gambling or betting, sale of regulated items, or advertising we have not agreed to.
- Illegal activity, or encouraging dangerous behaviour such as skipping safety gear on risky activities.
- Sharing other people's private information, including phone numbers, addresses, or photos of them without their consent.
- Putting your own contact details, payment requests or outside links in game notes. Use the app to coordinate.
- Posting a game at a venue that does not allow it, or claiming a court that is not yours to reserve.
- Contacting anyone you know or suspect is under 18. Ozevo is for adults only: report an account that looks like a child's.
- Trying to break, scrape or overload the service, or to evade a suspension.
Meeting people safely
- For a first meeting, choose a public, busy place and daylight if you can.
- Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back.
- Arrange your own travel. Do not share your home address, even to be picked up.
- Trust your instincts. You can leave at any time and report the person afterwards.
- Weather, trail and water conditions change quickly. Check conditions, and do not go alone into backcountry, open water or high-risk terrain.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number, not Ozevo.
Playing after dark
- Choose lit, busy places when you can. The app shows when a game runs after sunset and whether lights are listed for the place. "No lights listed" means we do not know, not that there are none.
- Arrive and leave with others. Bring a light and a reflective layer for routes and trails.
- Check posted park hours: parks and courts may close in the evening, and public lights often run on timers. Leave when the place closes.
- Hosts: say if a place has no lights.
Share your plan
Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when. In the app, "Share my plan" sends a message with the place, the time, a map link and the game link. It never sends your live location or the names of other players, and Ozevo does not track you or check on you afterwards. See Safety.
Chat, reviews and scores
- In chat: keep it about the game, group or tournament. No insults, pressure, spam, or begging for contact details. Links, phone numbers and email addresses are blocked by the filter on purpose, to keep people safe. Do not try to get around the filter.
- In reviews: describe what you saw. No personal attacks, no names of other players, no revenge reviews, and no reviews for money or favours. If you own or coach at the place, say so in the text, or ask someone else.
- With scores: report what happened. Do not enter results for games that did not take place, and do not pressure others to confirm.
- If someone bothers you: block them. You can report a message and the person is not told who reported it.
If you host
- Describe the game, the level and the place honestly.
- Check that the venue allows your game, and book any required permit or court.
- Your notes are public. Keep them short, and do not include personal contact details.
- Cancel in the app if you cannot run the game, so players are told.
Coaches, tournaments and shops
- Coach profiles must be truthful about experience, certificates, rates and where you teach.
- Tournament organisers must give accurate rules, dates, fees and waivers.
- Shop and gear information should be accurate. Use "Fix details" or "Report closed" when you see a mistake.
Using Ask Coach
Ask Coach is for sports questions, for people 18 and over. Do not try to make it ignore its safety rules, use it to harm or harass others, or share other people's private information with it.
Report a problem
If you see something that breaks these guidelines:
- In the app: press and hold a chat message to report it or block the person. Reviews have a Report button, groups have "Report group", and shops, places, coaches, tournaments, gear and Coach answers have their own report buttons ("Report closed", "Fix details", "Report a place").
- For a game or a player: email support@getozevo.com with a link or the game's details, and what happened. Reports about a message, review or chat can also be sent from the app.
- Emergencies or threats to safety: contact local emergency services first.
We review reports. A message or review that several different people report is hidden automatically until a person looks at it; reports from established accounts count for more than reports from new or linked accounts. Accounts that show signs of spam or abuse can be muted or banned for a short time, and a person can undo it. You can appeal a ban in the app. We may not be able to tell you what we did. A report about a person is not shared with them by us. We look at reports as quickly as we can, and first when someone may be in danger.
What we do about it
Depending on how serious it is and whether it is repeated, we may: remove content, cancel a listing, warn you, limit features, suspend or permanently ban an account. We can block an account from posting while we look into a report. If you think we got it wrong, email support@getozevo.com and tell us why; a different person reviews appeals where we can.
Serious cases (for example threats, or content involving minors) may be reported to the authorities.
